The posthuman and literature

How does literature imagine the human future?

Info about event

Time

Tuesday 30 April 2019,  at 16:00 - 19:15

Location

Copenhagen's Main Public Library

In collaboration with the Copenhagen Public Libraries, Human Futures invites you to an event where researchers and Danish authors together will investigate the posthuman in literature. The posthuman is a broad term, which in many ways depicts a new way of viewing human nature. Among other things, it describes a dismissal of humans as rationalized individuals, wipes out the lines between culture and nature and depicts humans as machines. In other words: human nature is under pressure.

The event will include three talks by Cathrine Hasse (AU), Charlotte Engberg (RUC) and Mads Rosendahl Thomsen (AU). Furthermore, the authors Lone Hørslev, Merete Pryds Helle and Ida Marie Hede will each give their take on the posthuman.
